So this one is really obvious. You could probably argue that Britney's producers stole it from the Arctic Monkeys! I'm sure there are some Britney fans out there who also like the Arctic Monkeys, although the chances of Arctic Monkeys fans liking Britney are probably slim to none, haha! In any case, hope you enjoy it!
For the past few years DJ Useo has produced a compilation of summer-themed mashups called Summer Booty. This year he asked me to contribute, and I felt humbled to be included alongside mashup Jedi including DJ Moule, Marc Johnce, mARKYbOY, ThC, and dozens more. This was my contribution, titled Love Lost All Day 'n' Nite, featuring:
Here is my entry for Beatportal's remix contest for Swedish singer Robyn's 'None Of Dem'. Very different from the original but I hope you enjoy the more chilled version I created.
Jumping on the OMG mashup bandwagon with one of my own. In addition to the tracks below, I used a few stem files from Innerpartysystem and 8 measures of FLP's OMG remix instrumental at the end.
Promise this is the last Love Story mash I will ever do, but I think this reinterpreted version is pretty neat. If you love the piano, and love (or can even tolerate Taylor Swift), you should really like this.
I can't keep up with how many times Diddy has changed his name...now he's Diddy Dirty Money? Anyways, apparently he performed this song on American Idol. I don't watch the show, but they used the song on the NCAA Final title sequence (which being a Duke grad I DID watch) and thought I'd take a stab at mashing it up. I think I did Diddy a favor, but you be the judge. Features...
Hello Good Morning (feat. T.I.) - Diddy - Dirty Money
Every now and then I hit a mash up dry spell, and the cure is usually putting together a long mix. And so I give you the MixGasm, ~25 minutes of blended dance tracks. Track list below...
Siriusly Blah (Ke$ha vs Alan Parsons Project) - Biglerism Blah Blah Blah (feat. 3OH!3) - Ke$ha I'm With Stupid - Pet Shop Boys Trouble - Bitter:Sweet Thriller (DiscoTech Remix) - Michael Jackson Billie Jean - Michael Jackson Night On Fire - VHS Or Beta Hot N Cold (Innerpartysystem Main) - Katy Perry Bad Romance - Lady Gaga
Back again with another one. Got a decent DYI 'pella of P!nk's 'Please Don't Leave Me' and mashed it with my perennial favorite electronica duo, Röyksopp. Includes some original effects as well, and the result gives it a completely different vibe. Features:
Please Don't Leave Me - P!nk (Acapella)
This Must Be It (Lehtmojoe Remix) - Röyksopp
UPDATE: On March 3rd, 2010, this mashup was featured on arguably the best mashup podcast on the Internet, Ramdom Thoughts.
Haven't done a hip hop mash in a while, so here's a little dose of Jay-Z mashed with Cypress Hill. The background strings are from the Hybrid track, and I added in my own vocal effects. Unfortunately the 'pella had some issues where I couldn't use the entire track, namely the first part of Kanye's rap. But in any case I think it still turned out well.
Run This Town (feat. Rihanna & Kanye West) - Jay-Z (Acapella)
By now you know I'm a big fan of mashing up Röyksopp tracks. And Gaga 'pellas. There is an entire album of remixes for The Girl and the Robot, and I used sampes from about 4 of them for this one, along with the 'pella of Bad Romance. The blended lyrics actually make a bit of sense as well. And so I give you Bad Romance with a Robot, featuring the following tracks...
Merry Christmas...Chanukah...Kwanzaa...Festivus...Solstice...whatever you believe! Here's my contribution to the holiday mash up scene...a new take on The Little Drummer Boy. Has a bit of a Moby vibe to it, even though none of his tracks are in here. Features samples from the following tracks:
Check out this 'bitchin version of my shakira vs deadmau5 mashup. Incorporates the mad skills of frail.limb.purity along with my own edits. Definitely better than the original, IMO.
I've recently discovered a Swedish band called The Sounds and I am a big fan. Their music is simple, upbeat, and makes for great driving. Their tunes form the underbelly of this mash up, coupled with vocals from The Ting Tings and some beautiful haunting vocals from Carah Faye Charnow when she was the lead singer of the Shiny Toy Guns. Features the following tracks...
Here's a different take on Taylor Swift's hit single "Love Story". I've used samples from this Röyksopp track before in my InnerPartySystem mash up "Only This Obsession", however this one features nearly the entire song instead of a few samples. Kate Havnevik's vocals really blend nicely with Taylor's, and what's cool is that the blended lyrics make complete sense as well. Listen carefully and you'll see for yourself! Features the following tracks:
Ok folks, this one has a lot going on in it. Firstly, thanks to frail.limb.purity for sourcing the acapella for Come Together, a tune everyone knows because, well…it’s the Beatles!. Tomoyasu Hotel, most famous for their music in Kill Bill, provides some of the under rhythm and transitions. You’ll recognize it when you hear it. Ini Kamoze provides the bass beat and some limited supporting vocals. Mix that in with a little intro from Phil Collins, splash in a dash of Depeche Mode throughout, especially in middle, and the result is a mash up featuring more tracks than I’ve ever used before. Enjoy!
Come Together – The Beatles (Acapella)
Battle Without Honor Or Humanity – Tomoyasu Hotel
Battle Without Honor Or Humanity #2 – Tomoyasu Hotel
Here Comes the Hotstepper (Heartical Mix) – Ini Kamoze
Britney has a new single out, and I've already hacked it up. This mash up takes the pop out of it and adds a little edge, courtesy of a killer base track by Blue Stahli. Used the following tracks for this one...
3 - Britney Spears
3 - Britney Spears (Acapella)
Disco Punks On Jolt - Blue Stahli
Also includes a few samples taken from the following tracks...
You've all heard this Modjo track on a dance floor somewhere, trust me. Impossible to find (no iTunes or Amazon), I had to actually buy a CD to get this track...and an import at that! Combined with the studio acapella for LoveGame, I think it turned out pretty well. Enjoy!
I create my own mashups and publish them on this website. If you found this site, you probably already know what a mashup is, but for those who do not, Granny Teller knows best. Enjoy the music!
